It’s getting closer to summer and we’re feeling those tropical vibes. Here’s how to spruce up your interior to prepare for the season:
Buy some plants! Even though our hearts are always set on the different types of palm leaves, we love incorporating florals. Orchids are favorable year round while bromeliads are a popular summer selection. Some other favorites of ours are hydrangeas, peonies, canna lilies, and of course, citrus trees!
Fresh paint. There is something about a fresh coat of paint that not only brings new life to a space, but can also be a way to infuse a little personality as well. Now is the time to be bold, try out a new color for the season. We’re loving the Pantone color of the year, Living Coral 16-1546.
Change out those throw pillows! Even substituting something this small can give your interior a fresh new look.
Bring out the white. Even though we never follow the Memorial Day - Labor Day “white only” season, it’s time to flaunt it for those who do. Changing your duvet or bedspread to a crisp color will change how you view your sweet sanctuary. If you’re not into that, try adding a linen throw blanket in the living room or bedroom.
Natural textures - Linen, grasscloth, rattan, Capiz shell, whatever it may be will transport your mentality to a dreamy day on a tropical island.
Go to the beach! Smell the salty air, feel the water, collect some seashells. You never know what types of treasures you’ll discover.
